Amasing support for Ungdomshuset
It came to minor riots when the police tried to stop a demonstration for Ungdomshuset. Together wuth hundreds with freinds we fought back Though every politician in the city has condemmed the clash both local, national and international support for the struggle is stronger than ever.

Allmost 300 were arrested borh locals and visitors. Most danes were released the following day. Foreugners were kept for three days with special rules. Three people can be kept in custidy for two weeks. About 20 foreugners are waiting for the police to throw them out of Denmark.

Since saturday there has been a lot of solidarity actions. Demonstrations, graffiti actions, bannerdrops, letters of support and so much more in so many countries. Germany, Norway, Holland, Ireland to name a few.

To everybpdy who came:

Thank you for being here in our time of need, we find ourselves extremely privileged to have such an awesome extended family as you. We have, for a very long time now, tried to negotiate with the politicians, start dialogs and arrange peaceful demonstrations. We have been met with lies, ignorance, police violence, unlawful arrests, imprisonment and impending eviction. You have helped us show the politicians that, contrary to them; we do not talk bullshit and issue false promises. It has been said that we are willing to fight for this house and now it seems that it is finally starting to seep through their thick skulls that the upcoming eviction will not be a peaceful affair.

The police have learned that our kind cannot be beaten into submission; no amount of brutality from their side will make us loose our will to fight. Not for a moment.

We are sorry that some of you got hurt, locked up and face deportation. The imprisonment of people, who actually are aware of the value of freedom, is a high price to pay indeed. But you have, with your strength, your blood and your defiance made Ungdomshuset your house, and every time you come back here, you will be welcomed home.

To those of you who have arranged solidarity actions, demo’s and concerts in your own communities; thank you, you’re giving us more strength to keep fighting. We are proud to be part of a network which still has the courage to stand up against the power-elite.
